The “Museums for 10” event will be held this year from May 13 to May 19. This is a national museum initiative, the largest so far in Serbia, which has been held consecutively over the past few years. The event includes International Museum Day (May 18), the 14th European Night of Museums (May 19), and National Museum Week.
This year’s theme is:
MUSEUMS AS CENTERS OF CULTURE: THE FUTURE OF TRADITION
The National Museum in Aranđelovac is once again participating in the “Museums for 10” event with an exhibition titled “Encounters,” showcasing all artworks that have become part of the Art Collection over the past three years. With the goal of enriching the museum’s collection, an Art Colony is held annually in Orašac, where each year’s gathering produces ten artworks from some of the most significant creators on the current Serbian art scene. The Ministry of Culture and Information supports this museum project by providing funds for the acquisition of artworks. The exhibition testifies to the encounters among artists, their interactions with nature, people, cultural heritage, and audiences… and aims to inspire future encounters between art and people.
Admission is free for all seven days.
