The National Museum in Aranđelovac, as its managing body, has been entrusted with the stewardship of the protected area “Risovača Cave.” As an important Paleolithic archaeological site, Risovača has been designated a cultural asset of great importance, and due to its natural values, it has also been declared a natural asset of exceptional importance (Category I nature monument).
Arranged according to all principles of modern presentation, it annually welcomes over 20,000 visitors. Additionally, the Museum is responsible for the Historic Site of Orašac, the Kosturnica (ossuary), and the homestead of Ilija Milošević.
Educational work is a significant aspect of the curators’ and museum guides’ activities. Special attention is given to educational workshops for preschool, primary, and high school children. In addition, workshops for adults, lectures, and promotional events for museum publications are also organized.
The Museum is involved in publishing activities, producing catalogs of collections and exhibitions, monographs, guides for the Museum and Risovača Cave, and other publications. In 2003, the Museum launched its journal, Šumadija Records.
On the bicentennial of the First Serbian Uprising, the municipality of Aranđelovac erected a monument to Karađorđe in white Venčac marble, standing 3.40 meters tall, created by sculptor Drinka Radovanović. The monument is placed in front of the memorial school.

Risovača Cave is located on the outskirts of Aranđelovac. The cave was discovered in 1950 during marble extraction, and since then it has become an important archaeological and tourist site.
